Tundra
The barren plains of the tundra are inhospitable to most life. The permafrost only allows shrubs, bushes and mosses to grow, with the exception of a few dwarf willows and birches. The weather can be the most unrelenting aspect of this area. Strong gusts of wind pierce through even the warmest of pelts and only in summer does the temperature raise above the freezing point. The permafrost melts and creates swamps, bogs and lakes, which allows for million of insects. Still, the tundra isn't entirely deserted: it is the home of the caribou, the lemming, the Arctic hare and the Arctic fox, as well as wolves - as long as they are adapted to the extreme environment.

Coast
In a cave in the north of the tundra, one can find a cave which is filled with ice. The phenomenon is rare and beautiful, although dangerous. The many corridors and holes, in addition to one's own reflection, can make it easy to get lost. In summer, some of the ice melts and creates small streams of ice water inside the cave itself. An animal won't die by dehydration - hypothermia is the number one cause of death. Once one's fur is completely soaked, it is nearly impossible to preserve or regain body heat. Many creatures found their end that way, so be warned. Albeit stunning to the eye, the Frostbite Cavern is a force to be reckoned with.

Redwood Forest
The redwood forest is a jungle with enormous trees. The ancient evergreens tower above all living creatures and make for a somewhat magical surrounding when one walks between them. Due to heavy seasonal rainfalls and fog, the forest is rather damp. The moisture offers protection against wildfire and one can find various streams. Besides redwood trees, the vegetation consists mainly of a few other coniferous trees, ferns, mosses and mushrooms. The forest provides habitat for a variety of animals. The tree density makes hunting a challenge, especially when searching for prey that has mastered the art of camouflage. Small prey include chipmunks, squirrels and mice, but the forest is also the home of deer and elk. But be aware of the fact that you might not be the only predator around...

Plains
The open fields are characterised by their vastness. With the exception of a few hills, there is nothing but grass for as far as the eye can see. Since there are no trees one can use as shields from the blaring sun or roaring storms, most animals prefer the shelter of the forests. Shelter from the elements, but also from predators. It is easy to see movement on the open plains, which results in certain challenges when it comes to hunting. There are a few deer and elk herds who graze on the open plains, but they are hard to catch for a solitary wolf. Most rogues prey on rodents such as rabbits, who live in abundance - especially in the hills.
